Absolute taste of Cyprus #cypruswine. Cyprus Wines and the constancy in the pursuit of further excellence. Congratulations to the new wineries participating and to Sodap and 2002 vintage of St. Barnabas Commandaria for the Decanter Awards– still carrying the flag for the absolute taste of Cyprus in Wine.
It’s all about consistency, endurance and recognition, the news is out for Sodap Cyprus Wines. The AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge has confirmed that the St. Barnabas Commandaria retains the gold standard for this year’s edition among seven other award winning wines presented at the 2013 international competition.
Although the Commandaria panorama has changed with multiplicity of offerings and tastes, the St. Barnabas 2002 Vintage still demonstrates to be a very appreciated wine and top of its class, as shown by the results in the 2019 Cyprus Wine Competition, fetching Grand Gold and the honor of being the best rated Cypriot wine.
Update: Still participating as part of Cypriot delegation in the Decanter Awards, in 2020. As 100% Xynisteri, “Fresh and complex example with a luscious apricot, raisin, dark chocolate, nut and tobacco scent and taste. Hugely drinkable still.” – 2002 Vintage.
